Every day I see the ocean, and of course I have been tempted to paint the waves, the foam, the changing colors of the water, the reflections of the sun that vary depending on the time of day I’m at the beach… A few years ago I have painted rather figurative waves, I wanted to switch to abstract completely…
Water mirrors… bright colours… here, I seek a liberation of the subject and the composition,
with a kind of opening of the pictural space, the colour play becomes the main substance. The color is not at the service of the representation of the subject, of the drawing… it is the “matter” itself.
Transparencies, play of superimposed layers…
